Veseyans home winning home record this season came to an end on Saturday when the visitors Harborne took the win. With this season head to head between the two teams standing at 1 all it was always going to be a close game. Harborne had the better of the early exchanges and notched up the first score with a try from a series of pick and drives following a 5m lineout. The conversion was missed. This was quickly followed by a second which came off the back of some poor V's handling, the Harborne wing swooping on a dropped ball and cantering under the posts from half way. With the conversion V's were 12 nil down. During the last quarter of the 1st half V's got into the match and scored following their own series of pick and drives with Jeff Large getting the ball over the line. From the re-start V's were back on the attack and when awarded a penalty Matt Gillick slotted it over to leave the half time score 8-15 to the visitors.

The second half started with V's under pressure and conceding a penalty which was put over by the Harborne no.10. V's then hit back with a well worked try scored and converted by Matt Gillick. Score was now 15-18. Yellow cards would be the down fall of the V's as reduced to 14 men twice in the second half the visitors took advantage of the numerical advantage and managed to score two more tries to leave the final score 15-30.

The league has a week off before V's are back in action away at Linley & Kidsgrove on 25th January.
