Veseyans 1xv were back in league action at home to Wednesbury. Winning the toss V's choose to play into what wind there was and uphill in the first half and as with previous games started brightly. With 8mins on the clock, Matt Gillick weaved his way through the opposition backs to score under the posts; he converted his own try. As with previous games, V's then took their foot off the gas and the rest of the half was generally played in the middle of the park. Wednesbury didn't have too many chances but comfortably slotted a penalty in the 30th minute to bring the score back to 7-3. V's then finished the half with a fine individual score from No.8 Cummings. At the back of a dominant scrum on the opposition 10m line, he picked up blind and shrugged off 3 would be defenders to score in the corner. This ended the half with V's 12-3 up.

V's started the second half as lively as the first and quick phases of play resulted in winger Dan Hemming rounding off a good team try in the corner.

Wednesbury then had the best period of the game and camped in V's 22 for a number of phases. This eventually resulted in a try to make the score 17-8. It was a short interlude to the defending the visitors had to do and V's responded with 3 further tries from centre Daz Paszkowski, wing Jon Fellows and scrum half Will Slattery. The latter two being converted by Matt Gillick. The final score ending 36-8 to the V's and another try bonus point victory. Man of the Match was Matt Gillick whose try and 3 conversions capped off a fine all-round display where he caused the opposition defence numerous headaches.
