After 6 thoroughly enjoyable seasons, I feel that the time is now right to hand over the reins to somebody that will give the club a new impetus and continue to drive the club forward. I am delighted to confirm that the person to do that is Mike Dell, who will be taking over as the chairman of our great rugby club from May 1st 2021. Mike is an incredibly committed clubman and has worked his way through the ranks at our club holding the positions of 2nd Team Manager for several seasons before becoming our Club Coaching Coordinator, and most recently has held the key role of Director of Rugby.
Mike is also a successful businessman and will be able to ensure that the rugby club continues to operate profitably and invest those profits back into our club facilities for players of all ages to enjoy. I am very hopeful and confident that we will be able to hold a couple of events later this summer to coincide with the annual business lunch, where we will be able to hold a senior club supper plus a Mini and Junior presentation evening, and at which point I will be able to “officially” handover to Mike and also get the opportunity to say a few “Thank Yous” to some of the great people that have been alongside me over the last 6 years. The club is in a very good place despite the obvious challenges over the last 12 months, we reacted and adjusted our operations accordingly, made sure that we accessed all of the financial support available, and I can assure everybody that the club is financially secure, our pitches, facilities, and clubhouse are all in top condition and we are ready to go when we can return to “normal” rugby.
