The club is saddened to announce the passing of 2 of our own over the last couple of weeks.

Clive Richards OBE

Clive was an amazing gentleman and a great supporter of our rugby club, without his generosity we would not have anything like the facilities we are all able to enjoy at the club.

From attending BVGS as a schoolboy, Clive progressed to play senior rugby for the “Old Veseyans “ rugby club as we were known then, and it was great to hear his stories of him and other “originals” spending Saturday mornings picking stones from the new pitches back in the 1950s so that they could become playable. And I know how much pleasure he derived from being involved 50 odd years later, when he was able to support us financially to achieve our ambitions in developing the clubhouse and facilities.

Clive was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all at Veseyans Rugby.

Paul Diblasio (Dibs)

Paul passed away on Tuesday evening after a short battle with Leukaemia.

A big man, with a big heart and always a big smile….a loved friend who will be greatly missed by all of his pals from the club.

Our thoughts are with Gail and the family.
