New Head Coach Announced

Veseyans Rugby are delighted to announce the appointment of Dan Lock as Head Coach for next season. Dan will be taking over from Jason Powell who is standing down after 2 seasons and the club would like to thank Jason for his fantastic effort and commitment over this time, a club man through and through, who will no doubt be looking forward to Saturday afternoons watching his sons from the touchline with a beer in hand, rather than from the dugout!

Commenting on Dan's appointment, Chairman Marc Hemingway stated, “with such a young squad we were focused on appointing a good, young coach to bring some fresh ideas and to be able to build on the good foundations laid down by Jason and his team over the last 2 seasons. We have debuted several 18-year-olds in the 1st team last season and every one of them acquitted themselves excellently. The future of the club is very bright and we wanted to bring in a young up-and-coming coach to develop and take the squad forward. We spoke to several coaches but once Dan applied for the position we realised that the answer was right under our nose and it was a fairly easy decision. Dan has coached our U15/16s for several seasons, worked with our Colts,  and has also run our Aston University coaching programme for the last few seasons with great success."

Further announcements will follow regarding additional appointments as we prepare for next season, along with pre-season start dates.
